Dockter is free to download and everything works for 30 days. After that it needs a one-time purchase that unlocks it for good — it isn't a subscription, and it covers every Mac using your Apple Account. Your folders, bookmarks and settings stay exactly where they are either way.
Everything you put in Dockter stays on your Mac. We run no servers and never see any of it. Dockter uses the internet only for the weather in a city you pick, exchange rates, and the icons of websites you bookmark. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
Only to list each app's open windows and tabs under Running Apps: on macOS, window names sit behind that permission. Dockter reads the names and nothing else — it never records or captures your screen. Say no and Running Apps still lists your apps, just without window names. You can change it any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording.
Check that your Mac is online and that you've chosen a city in Dockter Settings › Menu Objects › Weather. Weather comes from Apple's own service, which occasionally takes a while to respond; Dockter retries every ten minutes on its own.
Use Share › Dockter. In Firefox the share is under File › Share, or right-click the tab › Share. The first time, turn Dockter on in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions › Sharing.
Those browsers have no macOS Share menu. The easiest way is a bookmarklet you click on any page — the User Guide has the one-line address to paste. You can also drag a link from the address bar straight into a folder in Dockter Settings › My Bookmarks.
Yes. In Dockter Settings, drag any row by the ≡ handle on its left, or right-click it and choose Move Up or Move Down. The menu follows the same order.
Dockter Settings › Data › Export writes everything — folders, bookmarks, Menu Objects and settings — to a single file. Import replaces everything with the contents of that file. On a different Mac, files and folders you bookmarked need to be pointed at once more (the row offers Locate…), because macOS grants permission per Mac.
Not yet — use Export and Import to move everything across. Your purchase does carry over on its own, as it belongs to your Apple Account.
Open Dockter Settings › General and check Show in menu bar. If both that and Show in Dock were turned off, Dockter keeps one of them on so you can always reach it.
